Screen shot 2009-12-02 at 2.12.07 PMNaNoWriMo, aka “National Novel Writing Month” is an online event held in November where people try to write a 50,000 novel by the end of the month. This year, over 190,000 people participated in this event.

One of our great friends and followers, Conor Reid (BlogTwitter), has made his own NaNoWriMo, called “Blood on the Golden Horn”. It consists of over 55,000 words. A note from the author:

Before you download, keep something in mind. This novel was written in only 30 days. It is not the greatest novel ever written. I realize that it is not that good. I realize that there are countless spelling and grammar errors throughout. I realize that there are massive gaping plot holes all over the story. And yes, I realize that there is pretty much zero characterization. But you know what? I don’t care. I wrote a novel, and it’s a novel I’m proud of! So I hope you enjoy it! And, if you have any suggestions on how to make it better (of which, I am expecting quite a lot), please feel free to email me. My email is solidreid@gmail.com. I hope you like my novel!
