XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4

If you’re looking for a new case for your iPhone 4 that’s affordable, looks good, and protects your device while adding just a little bit of bulk, then the XtremeMac Tuffwrap is just what you’re looking for. In fact, this is my all-time favorite iPhone 4 case. It’s simple, feels good, and gets the job done. Priced at $19.99, you won’t be disappointed with this case!

First, the goodies! Included in the [rather simple and straightforward] packaging is the case itself, a screen-shield for the front of your iPhone 4, the fake iPhone 4 insert, and a user’s guide. The included screen-shield is quite good, although it’s not the best. There is a small rainbow-effect when the screen shield is installed. The installation is quite simple, and any air bubbles are easy to ease out.

Now, onto the case! We were sent both the green and black Tuffwrap cases, and other colors are available on XtremeMac’s website. Both of them felt great. They’re made of heavy-duty silicone; it’s not the thin/cheap silicone that are on some cases. The sides of the case has a dotted texture, which adds to the grip, and it adds a nice design to the case. The back of the case is nice and smooth, and XtremeMac’s logo is in the lower-right corner, and isn’t obstructive. Since we’re at the back of the case, let me talk about the camera cut out. It’s a “pill”-shaped cutout, and there’s a black inner lining so keep the “washing out” problem from occurring with the camera. This is a really nice touch, as a lot of cases are having the “washing out” effect.

What I like about the Tuffwrap is that all of the buttons and ports have some sort of protection. The power and volume buttons have little nubs that provide great feedback when pressing them down. There’s a modest cutout for both the silent switch and the 3.5mm headset jack. Next to the headset jack is a small hole for the noise cancellation microphone, which is perfectly aligned. The bottom of the case has individual cutouts for everything, which includes the microphone, 30-pin dock connector, and the speaker. Since this is a silicone case, you can use basically any sized docking cable that you’d like. You can use the one that’s included with your iPhone 4, or you can use a big third-party connector. You can just move some of the silicone out of the way if you’re having trouble. Oh yeah! This case also provides a nice lay-on-the-table design, so you can lay the case face-down on a table so that your screen is lifted off of the table a little bit.

Overall, this is a very nice case. The build quality is superb, and so is the price, design, and amount of protection. This is easily the case that I recommend to people to get for their cellular investment. This truly is a fantastic case.
