Apple Confirms: iOS 5, iCloud, OSX Lion to be Unveiled Next Week at WWDC

Today, Apple has confirmed in a press release that they will be unveiling the next version of the iOS 5, OSX Lion, and a brand new feature (heavily rumored) iCloud.  Click the “Read More” button to find out more about this press release.

iCloud, iOS 5, and OSX Lion are to be unveiled at WWDC on Monday.  But no sign of a new iPhone hardware as expected to be released around this time.

 

CUPERTINO, California—May 31, 2011—Apple® CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS® X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®; and iCloud®, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering. – Apple Press Release

As expected according to many rumors that has been going around for the past month, a new internet service provided by Apple will be released, iCloud.  Features regarding iCloud are not to be rumored at this point but at least we know what Apple are to be unveiling next week, something that Apple should have released for a long time.

The press release also stated that Steve Jobs, who stepped aside in January to focus on his health problems, will be presenting the Keynotes and introducing the upcoming updates.

WWDC will feature more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers. Mac® developers will see and learn how to develop world-class Mac OS X Lion applications using its latest technologies and capabilities. Mobile developers will be able to explore the latest innovations and capabilities of iOS and learn how to greatly enhance the functionality, performance and design of their apps. All developers can bring their code to the labs and work with Apple engineers.

These announcements are expected to be announced on June 6th.  But the WWDC will go on for the whole week.
