Apple has just seeded the Golden Master of OSX Lion ahead of its final release.  Click the “Read More” button to find out more on this release.

This golden master is available via the Mac Dev center.  The build number is 11A511.  At WWDC’11, Apple announced that OSX Lion was going to be priced at $29.99 and will be available for download via the Mac App Store.  They also stated that Lion will be released in July without stating an exact date.  With over 250 new features build into this baby ;) , including the Launchpad, Mission Control, new Mail, and the new multitouch gestures.

Apple has also detailed the Lion OSX Lion upgrade process for business and education services.  Macs bought after June 6 will be capable of getting OSX Lion for free through a request 30 days from OSX Lion’s release.

Apple has also released Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 7 and the OSX Lion server GM seed.  Both GM seeds of Lion needs to be redeemed in the Mac App Store with a redemption code.  Previously, Apple has made available builds through the Dev center and software update for minor changes to the developer preview code.

A new beta of iCloud for OSX Lion has also been released.  The new iCloud is required to use iCloud’s syncing feature with the GM version of OSX Lion.

MacRumors reports that OSX Lion GM contains an End User License Agreement which states that it’ll be possible to run multiple virtualized instances of OSX Lion within the OS

The Golden Master version of OS X Lion (10.7) just released to developers includes the final end-user licensing agreement (EULA) which reveals that users can run up to two additional instances of OS X Lion on their same machine without a need for extra licenses. From the 10.7 EULA:

(iii) to install, use and run up to two (2) additional copies or instances of the Apple Software within virtual operating system environments on each Mac Computer you own or control that is already running the Apple Software.

A forum member also posted a new screenshot of a scrolling video that Apple has incorporated in OSX Lion right after the first boot of the OS instead of the usual presentation video seen in previous versions of OS X.  In OSX Lion, the scrolling system is reversed by default, like in iOS. So it makes sense to include a video demoing the differences in Lion from Snow Leopard or other OSX versions.

Apple has also added the gesture scrolling video under system preferences in the GM seed.  These short clip animations demonstrate how to use these multitouch gestures to perform different actions on your Mac. You can find these under System Preferences – TrackPad or Mouse.

Mission Control also got an updated icon in Lion GM.

Additional VoiceOver Utility packs (licensed from Nuance) can be downloaded via software update.  This functions are enabled and working at its best in OSX Lion GM.
