Kickstarter is the place to be right now, it seems all the cool indie companies are doing it these days. If you are inclined to throw rocks, you couldn’t chuck one at an expo without hitting at least 2 companies that came to life thanks to this hip crowdfunding platform. One of the cooler gadgets currently being kickstarted is the iPhone POV camera mount called Miveu-X. With tons of cool features it looks like a great way to capture all your most adrenaline pumping moments for a fraction of the price of buying another mountable camera.

The ‘X’ is for eXtreme

Extreme sports fans, snow boarders, bikers of all sorts, and their adrenaline addicted ilk will love this new piece of wearable technology. The Miveu-X is a ruggedized case and mount system with a custom designed optical glass lens that more than doubles the view of the iPhone’s camera to record full HD POV video in all it’s shaky adrenaline pumping goodness. Does it get any better than this?

Clip It On and Hit The Trail

We love how simple this is system is to set up. The case connects to a clip on the chest that has a full pivoting mount so you can get a great view of what you are doing regardless of the sport. There’s no laser pointers or other weird leveling system to worry about getting it adjusted just right. Two large straps with oversized clips connect to the chest mount and go over your shoulders to make you look like on of the X-Men. There’s a water resistant skin to protect the iPhone from wetter elements allegedly… though I wouldn’t try using this while surfing.

Thanks to the iPhone’s ability to edit photos immediately after taking them, you get the instant gratification of checking out your sweet run as soon as the adrenaline shakes wear off and even posting it to the youtubes like the kids do these days. Another cool selling feature is the fact that you don’t have to buy an expensive GoPro camera or any of the other cameras out there. It’s a simple tool that uses the iPhone you probably already have in a new way. With mountain biking season just around the corner, we’d love to get our hands on a review unit when this project inevitably gets funded!
